Melbourne 19 Jan - Tuesday

Started the morning in the gym, I'm trying to kep fit for my trek in New Zealand. The hotel has a good gym and a great infinity swimming pool, both on the 27th floor, with great panoramic views. Dorothy has used the pool a few times already.
After breakfast we had a walk down the Yarra river and booked a boat trip down to Williamstown.
Another sunny day, 35°C. During the 50min trip down the river we saw lots of construction work and several new gridges over the Yarra. Being a port there were a number of large cargo ships being unloaded.
When we got to Williamstown, it was like stepping back into the wipes, I expected John Boy, from the Waltons (Amerisan TV show from tge 70s) to come round tge corner.
Pat and I stayed close to the centre, while Liz and Dorothy went  down to the beach.
Pat and I called into a local pub "Stag's Head Hotel". I ordered a pint, but got a pot (about half a pint), so Pat had this and I got my pint. The locals were all very friendly, they have similar problems as we have in the UK, that is that lots of the local pubs/bars have closed, to be replaced by realastate.
Before going out for our evening meal, we had a drink in the sky lounge, on the top floor (28th) of our hotel. Some great views.
