Melbourne 18 Jan - Monday

Had a lie in this morning, as we are getting use to the 3 hour time difference between Perth and Melboune.
The temperature has gone up a little today, it is now around 35°C. Although we understand that it's snowing at home. Our Peter sent a video of the snow yesterday and Lily has sent Dorothy a photo of her snowman today.
Pat and I caught the free tram (#70) down to Flinders Street Railway Station and met up with Liz and Dorothy at the Melbourne Visitor Centre, they went exploring earlier.
We walked down to the Yarra River and along the bank, before calling in a riverside bar for some lunch.
Following lunch we again took the free tram (#35) for a circular tour of Melbourne centre. All the trams in the centre of Melbourne are free. It is only when you go outside the centre that you have to pay.
Melbourne has a mixture of old grand buildings and new tower blocks.
There are lots of people in Melbourne for the Australian Open, which started today at the Rod Laver Arena. There is a lot in the media at the moment about match fixing scandle.

  1. No snow in Plymouth, and no temperatures of 35 degrees either. Just wet and windy. Are you going to watch any tennis? Looks like you're having a fab time. Xx
