NOTE. As Bob will be going to Nelson tomorrow, Wednesday 10 Feb, to join the rest of the Heaphy trail walkers. He will be unable to run this blog until his return on Tuesday 16 Feb. Good news though, in his absence we, the girls have agreed to continue to run this blog in our own style.
173km drive from Christchuch today, a cloudy cool start to the morning in Christchurch. Then after breakfast we set off for Kaikoura, and we we soon in the wine growing region.
We stopped at the first vineyard we came to, which was Pegasus Bay in the Waipara region.
They have some beautiful gardens as you can see below.
The four of us were extremely interested in there wares as you can see.
Bob was allowed into the inner sanctum but due to his responsibilities to the rest of the team was unable to sample the wares.
We arrived at Kaikoura safely after a thrilling cliff top ride.
We met this happy chappie later in the day climbing out of the Pacific Ocean
No whale watching?
